The asTTle package is the full package that will take place over the year and help you build up the knowledge as you go. It is made up of three modules that can be purchased separately or together.
STAGE 1: asTTle 101 - Understanding e-asTTle
asTTle 101, is the first stage of the asTTle package and introduces schools to the key education and assessments concepts that underpin the asTTle solution. It will provide you with the foundations and information that you need to know before you start using asTTle. Topics will include:
• Formative assessment, implications for teaching and asTTle's role in this process.
• e-asTTle model, item response theory and how this can be used to your advantage.
• e-asTTle's place in schools, classroom assessment and what you might want to consider as you use asTTle
• Overview of the e-asTTle reports
This seminar is for those who are just beginning to use e-asTTle and need guidance to move on and gain a more comprehensive understanding.
Duration: 3 hours
STAGE 2: asTTle 202
This module starts to target specific functionality and goes into more detail around strategies and how each stage of the assessment process connects with one-another. Decisions you make at the test creation stage will impact on the quality of the information you receive from the reporting - this module helps you understand the different options you have and how you can use them to suit your particular needs. Topics will include:
• Test creation (when to use the different options, reviewing test suitability, targeted testing)
• Identify what asTTle reports tell us about our students and about our teaching.
• Use asTTle reports to set next learning goals for individual students and groups
Pre-requisites:
• Completed asTTle 101 or are a regular user of asTTle• Created, administered, marked a test with your class
• ESAA login account (you will log in to e-asTTle using this account during the session).
Duration: 6 hours (9am to 3pm)
STAGE 3: asTTle 303
The focus of this module is on the feedback from assessment, and bringing the student into the learning process. It is intended for regular users of asTTle who have a working knowledge of asTTle as an education tool and builds on this knowledge to take the next step and learn how you can ensure that learning is a visible process. Topics will include:
• Discuss options for personalisation of learning and assessment and how e-asTTle may support this in the school
• Bringing students into the learning experience
• Relate asTTle data to other data sources
• SOLO, how this can be used in your teaching
• Reports and how the data can be used to inform teaching practice
• Target Setting and how this could be best used within the school
• Attitude domains and how these can be used.
